Kanazawa Institute of Technology (KIT) is a private University in Ishikawa Prefecture of Japan and its mission is to foster next-generation self-driven engineers who will become a key player in society to create innovation.
Innovative Composite Materials Research and Development Center (ICC) is one of the research centers of KIT and also the largest R&D center in Japan 100 % dedicated to composite materials. Established in 2014 with an aim to expand the use of composite materials in greater numbers of fields via interdisciplinary, industry-academia collaborations in a open design facility. To achieve breakthroughs across a multitude of difficult challenges not possible under current conditions, such as mass production, larger structures, easy joining, lower costs and expansion of product areas, ICC aims to bring together knowledge from a range of fields including biology, polymer chemistry, textile engineering and mechanical engineering. To encourage cross-industrial, interdisciplinary integration, ICC provides an open environment under one roof.
