ECOMAT

At ECOMAT, Bremen’s Center for Eco-efficient Materials and Technologies, the future of aerospace is taking shape. Since opening in 2019, the research and technology center in Bremen has brought together industry and science to support the transformation of the aerospace sector.

The aircraft of tomorrow will need to be lighter, more efficient and lower in emissions. Achieving this requires innovative materials, as well as new propulsion systems, manufacturing technologies and testing and certification processes. At ECOMAT, these and many other solutions are developed collaboratively, across disciplines and industry clusters.

The center provides modern infrastructure, including laboratories, offices, meeting and event spaces, and workshop facilities, with around 500 workplaces. It serves as a platform for research, cooperation, innovation and communication, supported by a strong network of partners from industry and academia. Regular exchange between stakeholders, as well as national and international cooperation, promotes knowledge transfer and helps translate research into practical solutions for the aerospace industry.
